Preschool Programs
Our Preschool Classes for ages 2 ½ - 5 build a foundation for Kindergarten and beyond.  Lesson plans are created to capitalize on the natural curiosity that all children possess.  Our classrooms are full of hands-on, creative, play-based opportunities for the students.  There are opportunities for teacher-directed AND student-led learning experiences.  Using The Creative Curriculum For Preschools as our curriculum framework, and incorporating the State of Ohio’s Early Learning Content Standards into each lesson, students are happily and playfully preparing academically and socially for that all-important Kindergarten year!

Discovery's 2 Day Extended Learning Program
If your child will be 4 by September 1st, you may choose to enroll in Discovery's 2 Day Extended Learning Program offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:40am to 2:30pm.   You may sign up for Extended Learning regardless of what days your child attends preschool. Tuition for Extended Learning is $165 monthly.  Children enrolled in this program should bring a lunch and drink.  In this extended learning program, students will participate in fun learning activities with friends!  You'll be prompted to add Extended Learning to your child's schedule during the preschool registration process.

Discovery's Monday STEAM Class 
If your child will be 4 by September 1st, you may choose to enroll in Discovery's Monday STEAM Class.  This class will be held on Monday afternoons from 11:40am to 2:30pm and will include Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) activities.  STEAM is open to children ages 4 through Kindergarten.  No matter what preschool or Kindergarten Enrichment session your child is in, you may add this supplemental class to your schedule.  Children enrolled in STEAM should bring a lunch and drink. The tuition for Discovery's Monday STEAM Class is $90 per month.  Participation in STEAM is included in the 4 day PM Kindergarten Enrichment Program.  You'll be prompted to add STEAM to your child's schedule during the preschool or kindergarten enrichment registration process.  

Kindergarten Enrichment Programs
This program is designed for children who are attending either an AM or PM Kindergarten program. Under the direction of our wonderful teachers, who hold degrees in Elementary or Early Childhood Education, children will extend their love of learning here at SPD in the following academic areas: Literacy, Math, Science, Art, and Social Studies. In addition, there will be daily opportunity to enjoy friendships and purposeful play with fellow Kindergarteners.  In our Kindergarten Enrichment program, children will enjoy academic experiences much like those in their Kindergarten classroom, except with fewer children. Each of our Enrichment classes will have no more than 14 children.  This will allow small group and one-on-one learning to take place. This will also allow for activities at an individualized pace, encouraged by the children’s readiness and their interests.
