The students enjoyed a visit from the Easter Bunny! The kids took home colored eggs, candy, and toys in the Easter baskets they had made. Happy Easter everyone!

In this month of December we have the opportunity to participate in a long-standing Springboro Preschool Discovery tradition. That tradition is having our children bring in an item (or items) to donate to those who are in need. Giving, sharing, and thinking of others are certainly character qualities we desire in our children and as parents we are often looking to provide practical opportunities to help our children develop their character. To really celebrate the spirit of what we are doing, our teachers take time in class to discuss what it means to “donate” and also talk with their students about what it means to give to others. Please consider brainstorming with your child on an item they think would be a good gift. Maybe donate a canned good or a toiletry item. Maybe a toy, a book, or some warm mittens. Please bring your unwrapped item to class within the next couple weeks. Thanks so very much for participating in this tradition with us!

Really enjoyed this article from The Savvy Source. Gift buying for the kids is so much fun but it sure can be tricky finding just the right gifts. I like how the author mentions staying away from just buying "stuff" and focusing on trying to find special and meaningful items that won't break the bank. I got a couple good ideas when reading and I hope you enjoy it too!

"This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave." Elmer Davis As October has now rolled into November, we find the Thanksgiving holiday is right around the corner. However, prior to Thanksgiving we are given another holiday where we can express our thankfulness. This holiday is Veterans Day, a day on which we have the opportunity to acknowledge all those men and women in our military, both past and present. I want to take this opportunity to offer a heartfelt thank you to all of our Springboro Preschool Discovery military families. It is a privilege to know those of you who are serving our country. The commitment of one who is in service to their country is a sacrificial one, and one which requires complete dedication. Additionally, the family members of a military person also find themselves sacrificing as their loved one fulfills their duty to our country. I personally am so grateful to all of you and I hope that our Preschool Discovery family will be an extended family of support and encouragement to you, not just as we acknowledge Veterans Day but year round as well.
